Irena (Ree) Kramer
Prior to founding Pulse in 2025, Irena practiced corporate law in Ontario for a decade, working for several local, boutique, and international law firms. After practicing in Ottawa and London early in her career, Irena relocated to Waterloo. She has proudly called the region home since 2016, developing a network and community of colleagues, clients and friends across firms and industries.
Irena’s corporate practice has assisted clients in navigating a wide range of legal needs, from initial incorporation and organization, contract preparation and negotiation, and financing, through to sale and acquisition, and beyond. Her extensive work with start-up and venture-backed companies at every stage of their life-cycle has shaped her strategic approach to benefit other clients across a variety of industries, including technology, construction, automotive services, equipment leasing, and software development.
Irena’s practice is defined by her commitment to infusing the dynamic, results-driven mindset of start-ups with a pragmatic, insightful perspective. She has cultivated a reputation as a detail-oriented, yet reasonable advocate for her clients. She prides herself on finding efficient and practical solutions for clients’ corporate and contractual needs as they achieve their growth objectives.
Irena often speaks on start-up and early-contract matters at events for technology companies, investors, and entrepreneurs across a variety of sectors. She has been involved in a variety of local organizations, including MBET and FEMPOWR, and is a board member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Irena is an avid traveller and culinary enthusiast who enjoys spending time with her two dogs, and proudly embraces her inner nerd.
